French Press / Cafetiere:
6-8g coffee per 100ml water
65-70g coffee per 1litre water
Brew time – 3-4 minutes
V60:
6-8g coffee per 100ml water
65-70g coffee per 1litre water
Brew time – dependent on dripper size (1-2mins for 1-cup / 2-3 mins for 2-cups)
Founded by Sidney Kibet, the Lot 20 works directly with smallholder farmers across Kericho and Bomet counties, buying their cherries at fair prices and paying growers on the spot, the moment they deliver. Every coffee is traceable from cherry to cup, with Lot 20 managing their own processing facilities and export independently, cutting out the middlemen that have historically undervalued farmers in the region. Beyond the coffee itself, Lot 20 invests in the communities they work with — offering financial literacy support, quality seedlings, and infrastructure improvements that help farmers grow and thrive long-term.
-First the bean is removed from the cherry with a de-pulping machine
-Next the beans are washed to ensure all traces of the cherry have been removed
-Once clean the beans are put to dry on the raised beds
-After drying the beans are taken to a dry-hulling machine for grading (for size) and to remove the final parchment layer around the bean
-Every measure is taken to ensure a consistent process is followed to produce this outstanding coffee.
